Pair of American Art Deco Lantern Fixtures
About the Item
Unusually these stylish fixtures are made of aluminium and copper plated brass. In those days aluminium was a modern and rather exotic material. They have no markings to indicate country of origin but they speaks strongly to me of the United States . The pierced body is formed as four curved pierced and connected panels, each lined with grey fibreglass , the stem and lower support continue the pierced and angular design. The overall feel of these fixtures suggest an interesting use of the materials to make a departure from the previous conventional form of such a fixture. It is very unusual to find one such fixture, we have a pair.
