Patinated and embossed glass and metal lantern in various patterns
About the Item
The curved glass and embossed metal lantern can be traced back to the 19th century and is of Russian manufacture.
At the bottom it has four small feet that allow it to rest on the ground. The circular ring at the base has floral pattern decorations. The central structure has ten glass faces, one of which can be opened as a door. The upper ring sees a geometric decoration with floral elements at the junctions between the glass faces. Above, the lantern continues in a dome that culminates in the upper element equipped with a hook, which also allows the lantern to be hung.
The bottom has a metal plate that served as a support for the candle, which gave illumination.
The object is special and rare both because of its beautiful workmanship and because it can be transported.
