1920s Tall Ship Sconces in Bronze Original Finish and Patina Priced Per Pair
About the Item

Spanish Galleon in full sail on a calm sea and a blue sky backdrop. 1920s vintage when US design was heavily influenced by European motifs and symbolism. Sconces are solid bronze with most likely brass at the base of the candle sleeves. Sconces are in their original finish and patina with just a light wax to help protect the integrity of the finish.
With a nod to Poseidon, (Greek deity of the sea and horses) two Atlantian Crowned Winged Seahorses supporting and protecting the Galleon from below. Atop the sconce is a rounded trefoil, symbolic of the Trinity, so the Galleon is protected from above and from below and leading the way on the top fore sail is the cross.
