1940s French train wall/ceiling lamps/lights, new old stock
1940s vintage French train wall/ceiling lamps/lights - new old stock. We have a large quantity of these stunning French Train lamps available. Sourced from a rolling stock factory in the South of France the lamps are made from pressed steel with amazing luminous sea green pressed and hinged glass covers. Eighty lamps are available, they are being sold singularly. These lamps are a great visual statement perfect for a hall, contemporary kitchen or living space, they can be used as wall or ceiling lamps/lights. The lamps can be used in portrait or landscape alignment and look superb when several are installed in a row. Each lamp has been cleaned and restored and all electrical components have been removed and replaced with modern European CE standard components to BS EN 60598. Each lamp is individually tested and labelled to BS EN 60598. Please note the lamps will require a shallow 5cm wall cavity for mounting, they do not flat surface mount, the lamp rear body must be recessed. Each lamp comes completely wired and ready to install including white pvc electrical cable for mains connection. The lamp is fitted with a standard E27 lamp holder for which a wide range of modern and vintage style filament bulbs are widely available. We do not currently sell bulbs and recommend LED bulbs 6W maximum. We are specialists in refurbishment of vintage lighting.
Workshop report
Workshop report lighting: We take electrical safety very seriously, our workshop team inspect every product and carry out any needed repairs to ensure that every lamp leaves us serviced and maintained ready for many more years of life. Each lamp has been cleaned and restored and all original electrical components have been removed and replaced with modern European CE standard components to BS EN 60598. Each lamp is individually tested and labelled to BS EN 60598. Each lamp comes completely wired and ready to install by a qualified electrician. All of our lamps are class 1 and earthed. In addition where physically possible we go beyond the regulations and double insulate all electrical components and fit additional grommets and protective cable sheathing at any potential points of cable movement. Each lamp is delivered with installation instructions. All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use.
