Vintage wall light from Ars Munda, crafted in Germany in the 1970s. With its rectangular Brutalist design in resin and translucent amber elements, it offers both illumination and sculptural presence.
Ars Munda was a German collective active in the 1960s–70s, known for their bold Brutalist lighting. Their work belongs to the Multiplo movement, which sought to make art more widely accessible by producing objects in small, authentic series. Each lamp was conceived as a stand-alone work of art rather than a reproduction of an “original.” It merges design and art. As part of its Multiplo series, the piece embodies a democratic vision: objects cast in limited editions, each equal, and none a reproduction of an “original”.
Crafted in richly textured resin with layers of hand-painted amber and bronze tones, it exudes a jewel-like glow when illuminated.
Measuring 72 × 18 × 10 cm, the light works well as a single statement or in multiples. The warm resin surface produces a soft glow, casting atmospheric light suitable for residential or hospitality settings.
Updated with LED bulbs, this piece is ready to use in contemporary spaces while retaining its vintage character.
