About the Item
The 120 series summons the shiny, glitzy allure of New York City nightlife. The viewer is drawn to move and connect with the four-sided steel plates as the reflective surfaces interact with the softly-lit globe. The shade as a floating, refracting mirror creates energy and movement in an otherwise stagnant space. The form is completely customizable in finish, and layout as is any ASTRAEUS CLARKE fixture. The steel can be finished in any reflective plating finish. The 120 series name comes from the average beats per minute of a disco record. This idea of movement and flow is encouraged as you see reflections of yourself and of your space in the mirrored surfaces.
ASTRAEUS CLARKE was founded by partners Chelsie and Jacob Starley and launched in 2022. Their unique skills and vision brought them from out west in their home state, Utah, to New York City to start their own creative studio. ASTRAEUS CLARKE’s lighting collections often begin with a personal story. Each fixture combines materiality and simple geometries with unexpected functionality, all with the intention of allowing the user to have moments of connective interaction with the design.
Led by Jacob and Chelsie, the manufacturing team handcrafts each made to order customized fixture in an experienced and skilled process. All ASTRAEUS CLARKE pieces are handmade in Brooklyn, NY.
