Elegant Pair of Mid-20th Century Crystal Waterfall Wall Sconces from France

About the Item

A French pair of three-light crystal wall sconces from the mid-20th century. This pair of vintage wall candelabras from France each feature an upper waterfall crown adorned with glass-cut flowers and crystals, with surmounting cascades of delicately draped crystal strings that fall to the three-light beneath, then continue on to the lower portions of the light fixtures. From the circular back-plate extends the three S-scrolled arms, ending in flowered iron bobeches and painted candle sleeves. The armature is a gold toned metal. Faceted crystal drops adorn the light fixtures throughout. The light fixtures have been rewired for the U.S. This pair of midcentury French crystal sconces will make a graceful lighting addition to any wall.

A French pair of 19th century sconces mounted on shapely carved and painted wood back-plates. This antique pair of sconces from France have been fashioned from 19th century brass/metal fixtures consisting of elaborately designed metal plaques, metal backplates, and a three-arm light fixture in leaf motif with metal flower petal wrapped bobèches, which have been mounted on 20th century wooden plaques. The carved wood plaque are shapely with scalloped top sides and rounded bottoms, and have a muted green finish which looks quite nice with the patina of the brass and metal. Note that this pair of light fixtures have older wiring. These French sconces will look lovely flanking at entrance within a foyer, or together gracing your bedroom or living room wall...
