Exceptional Italian Hand Painted Holly Leaf Wall Sconce of Huge Scale
About the Item
Stunningly detailed wall light, hand crafted holly leaves interspersed with wisteria flowers, the entire piece has been painstakingly hand-painted, in vivid natural greens, autumnal tan, browns and reddish hues. The wisteria flowers in soft duck egg blue and dusky pink. The four gold leaf flower cups each hold a single E14 (small screw in) bulb.
This is a truly beautiful piece, when unlit it adorns the wall as a beautiful sculptural piece, and with the flick of a switch it becomes the most incredible wall light.
Hand made in Italy in the 1950’s, this is an outstanding mid-century lighting sculpture.
Height 113cm, Width 56cm, Depth 15cm
It is possible a couple of leaves have been historically lost, but it is so profusely decorated it is impossible to tell for certain.
