Large German Modular Sconce by Motoko Ishii for Staff, 1970s

About the Item

This sconce was designed by Motoko Ishii for Staff, in Germany, during the 1970s. Huge and rare modular wall lamp, it can also be used as a ceiling or table lamp. It consists on 13 clear glass shades, some have a metalized finish in half of the globe, and they are set on hexagonal chrome bases. With rheostat that allows you to adjust the light intensity, for E14 bulbs 25 w max. The lamp received the IF Design Award in 1974. It can be disassembled and the glass shades can be individually wrapped for easy transport. It is in original and good vintage condition, with light wear consistent with age and use.
