About the Item
A bold interplay of geometry and light, the Appleak Wall Light by onentropy transforms solid marble into a weightless glow. Featuring a seamless volume of hand-finished marble cradled in entirely handmade bronze detailing, Appleak showcases the unique translucency and crystalline structure of this noble material. Each piece is sculpted—not assembled—from a single block of stone, ensuring purity in both form and presence.
The off-centred triangular silhouette is understated yet striking—a modern architectural gesture that quietly commands attention. Light is introduced through careful carving, which reveals the natural veining and mineral variation within each unique slab. This moment of exposure is core to onentropy’s design philosophy: a celebration of the emptied and filled, of light emerging from within the material itself.
Though made from marble, Appleak is surprisingly lightweight thanks to precise engineering. It is elegant and quiet in essence, never heavy or imposing, and suitable for a variety of wall types and applications.
Whether installed individually in entryways or bedrooms, or in sets of two flanking a console, repeated down a corridor, or over built-ins, it brings both functional brightness and atmospheric warmth to the space. Appleak isn’t simply a wall light—it’s a sculptural presence that gently transforms its environment.

It is worth its price because it is carved entirely from a single volume of Greek Dionysos marble—a stone of the highest quality, ranked alongside Carrara. This is the same white marble used in classical antiquity, including in many of the most iconic temples, sculptures, and monuments of Ancient Greece. Its legacy and material purity are unmatched.
All bronze components are hand-formed, giving each fixture subtle individuality and artisanal refinement.
Its minimal form disguises a complex process of carving, hollowing, and finishing by hand—rooted in deep material understanding and traditional stone craft.

on • entropy is a marble atelier established since 2009 in London & Athens by Niki and Zoe Moskofoglou. Marble, an archetypal greek material, takes on an unconventional role in on • entropy's designs; they encapsulate the contradiction of being heavy and compact and at the same time vulnerable, fragile and translucent. Its diverse character is the core of the atelier’s founding mission: to experiment with marble and its entropy;
The result is the craftsmanship of intricate and delicate creations, evolving its diachronic qualities in an imaginative & contemporary way. Created and run by sisters Niki and Zoe Moskofoglou, on • entropy is the fruit of a 40 years long family affair with marble in Greece. NM is an architect with an academic training in Design. Her work demonstrates an architectural detailing and instinct of how Space and Object can surpass mere function.
ZM is a civil engineer with expertise in Sustainable Heritage. From the cultural landscape of the quarry to refined marble, she wants to offer a Future to the Past human and natural environment. NZM founded their design studio to reflect both art and craft. Pushing the boundaries of marble,
their work begins with the human experience and an interaction with the senses; it demands contemplation. Today on • entropy creations are presented at established european galleries including Rossana Orlandi and Mint, while collaborations on commercial projects (Le Bon Marche, Four Seasons) carry on.
