Pair of Large Brass Ship's Lights
About the Item
A pair of large size brass ship's lights of semi-circular form with domed covers and retaining pole mount hardware and original fresnel glass lenses, now wired for modern bulbs, with blacksmith-made custom iron wall supports. With raised lettering to the top screw covers "Durkee Marine Products Corp Staten Island. NY". Probably circa 1910-20. The C.D. Durkee company made high-quality marine hardware in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and was considered "The Tiffany of the Trade".
