Portuguese Wrought Iron and Brass Street Lamp
About the Item
Wrought iron and brass street lamp. Rustic in style, it is decorated with curves, leaves and spirals. The frame holds hammered glass panels, which soften the light emitted, creating a diffuse and cozy effect.
The lamp is suspended by a sturdy metal chain, connected to a circular support for fixing to the ceiling or to elevated supports, such as balconies or porches. The upper part of the lamp features curved elements and arabesques. The painted iron finish shows signs of aging.
This type of lamp was common in old streets, squares and balconies, being a functional and decorative piece.
