About the Item
Rare, elegant and highly decorative Mid-Century Modern sconce or wall fixture. Designed by Hans-Agne Jakobsson for AB Markaryd, Sweden, 1950s. Marked with makers label revers.
Executed in brass, opaline glass and plastic, the sconce is executed with 2 x E14 / E12 Edison screw fit bulb sockets, is wired and in working condition. It runs both on 110 / 230 volt. Delivery without bulbs.
It is wired at the moment for a plug-in power source, but can be hardwired as well.
The sconce is checked, cleaned and suitable for use in the USA.

Hans-Agne Jakobsson
Hans-Agne Jakobsson was a Swedish interior and furniture designer, who ran his own company from 1951. Jakobsson was especially famous for his lighting designs, which often had a softly glowing light and organic shape. His designs were inspired by great, modern Scandinavian designers such as the Finnish icon Alvar Aalto and Danish lighting master Poul Henningsen.
