Set of two extremely rare, elegant and highly decorative Mid-Century Modern wall lights / sconces with perforated lamp shades. Designed probably by Ernest Igl for Hillebrand Leuchten, Germany, 1950s.
Executed in perforated and white painted metal, each lamp comes with 1 x E27 / E26 Edison screw fit bulb socket, is wired, in working condition and runs both on 110 / 230 volt. Delivery without bulbs.
The sconces are checked, cleaned and are suitable for use in the USA.

Ernest Igl
Ernest Igl graduated from the Karlsbad Commercial Academy in 1938 and then attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and the Academy of Applied Arts in Munich. After the war, he worked as a draftsman and graphic artist in Munich. Igl enjoyed a high reputation as one of the first illustrators at major school book publishers and distinguished himself as an internationally sought-after industrial designer. He died in Davos in 2001.

Sergio Mazza is an Italian designer born in 1931 in Milan.In 1955 he began his professional career and from 1961 he worked alongside G. Gramigna in the Smc studio, working in the field of furniture and industrial design.
Among the various awards received, we remember the report at the Compasso d'Oro 1960 for the Delta lamp by Artemide and the silver medal for the Italian Apartment at the X Triennale in Milan.
From 1967 he began to design also for Olivari, signing the handles Macco, until the model Giuliana, with Gramigna, of 1987. In the field of publishing, always with Gramigna, he directed the magazine "Ottagono" from its foundation until 1988.
