18th Century Carved Giltwood Lamps on Acrylic Bases Depicting Dance of the Muses

About the Item

A handsome pair of carved giltwood lamps depicting dance of the muses. Includes three women posturing on different sides of the piece. 18 century sculpture set fragments converted to lamps without belonging to the sculptures. Made in Italy. Lamp shades available for both. The muses were minor gods of ancient Greek mythology that inspired mortals in creative pursuits. No obvious markings present on the lamps. In good condition. Some gentle wear consistent with age and use. One piece is detached from the acrylic base but is in good shape and can be easily reattached. These pieces are somewhat delicate due to the age and materials involved. These lamps would make a great accent in a bedroom, living room, or library, blending with a variety of styles.
