About the Item
A vintage Mid-Century Modern Italian pair of Scavo table lamps made of hand blown Murano glass, enhanced by a detailed yellow-white ring in the style of Alfredo Barbini, in good condition. The smoked desk lights are in the shape of a vase, featuring a one light socket. The wires have been renewed. Wear consistent with age and use, circa 1950 - 1970, Murano, Italy.
Measures: base: 3.25" Height x 10.25" diameter
Alfredo Barbini was an Italian glass artist and a designer born in 1912, in Murano, Italy and passed away in 2007. At the age of 13, in 1925, he started working in the S.A.I.A.R. Ferro Toso factory, where started to learn the glassmaking process. Before Barbini opened, started his own glass firm, in 1950, he worked for, with many well known glass manufacturer in Italy, such as Zecchin & Martinuzzi firm and Seguso Vetri d'Arte, etc. His work was was exhibited at the Venice Biennales, from 1950 - 1961.

A vintage Mid-Century modern pair of Italian table lamps, model Alfa are made of hand blown Murano glass, designed by Sergio Mazza and produced by Artemide, in good condition. The slightly smoked round shades of the desk lights are enhanced by a brass ring with a polished knob, featuring a two light socket. The base is made of hand crafted polished Rosewood. The wires have been renewed. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1959 - 1960, Pregnana Milanese, Italy.
