Angelo Mangiarotti, Original Lesbo Table Lamp

About the Item

Rare lamp made of opaque white and transparent blown glass and cast metal base. Light scuffs with minor signs of use and age. This vintage lamp remains in excellent condition. If necessary, we recommend that a qualified electrician adapts the electrical components. About the artist: Angelo Mangiarotti was one of Italy’s most highly esteemed and prolific designers of the twentieth century. At the heart of his practice was an unwavering commitment to designs that respected the characteristic of his materials and responded to the needs of the consumer. Comprising a range of materials, Mangiarotti’s most famous designs included his ‘Saffo’ and ‘Lesbo’ glass-blown lamps (1967) for Artemide. Celebrated for their powerful sculptural presence, these pieces anticipated the robust postmodern aesthetic and continue to resonate in a contemporary interior.
