Antique Brass and Cast Iron Elephant Lamps By Voss Of Denmark
About the Item
An amazing and rare antique Danish elephant lamp from the 1920s by Voss of Fredericia.
Raised on 3 elephant heads of cast iron with white painted iron tusks.
The elephant heads are attached with two screws to a brass vessel that originally would have been used for petroleum as originally these lamps were produced as oil lamps.
Original E27 brass and porcelain bulb holders with on/off switch.
Original lampshade holders in brass and with the original white opaline glass shade that just looks amazing when switched on.
No issues with the glass shade just age related wear.
Lovely patina to the surfaces.
The lamps have been dismantled and cleaned then waxed to give a dark shine to the surfaces without the loss of patina.
Rewired with brown twisted cloth flex and insulated where it passes through the lamp so no need for grounding.
Unique lighting with an English county house feel that would compliment any space.
Can be fitted with an EU UK or US electric plug.
