About the Item
This is a wonderful and rare converted oil lamp in milk glass in very good condition in the British Colonial or Art Deco style. The design details make the lamp unique and provide the new owner with decorating mileage. The lamp has beautiful detailing in a high relief garland embossed design around the outside and is designed with a single column that rests on a faceted octagonal base. The lamp accommodates a standard sized hurricane glass. It is simple yet elegant. The condition is nearly mint, but we will say very good in case we have overlooked something. This would be perfect on a desk or in a bedroom setting with fluffy white comforters.

This lamp is so special, so elegant and hard to find. The palette is attractive in ivory with leaves in various shades of green and gray that appear to be falling on this vintage botanical hand-painted porcelain vasiform table lamp. This is attributed to Europe from the mid 20th century.
There is a signature painted with a brush near the base of the lamp. The lamp's base is porcelain with gilt trim that is wearing in some sections. The plug is older and dates to mid-century or earlier. It presents well with an added white shade that is not included. It measures 33 inches tall from base to finial and 5 inches by 5 inches wide. The lamp's harp is old and unattractive with deep oxidation, and it will be replaced before delivery unless the buyer asks otherwise.

The Stiffel lamp is eggshell color and ovoid shape. The contrast of the burnished brass and the light tan porcelain is beautiful. The circumference of the lamp is decorated with two green stripes. But a standout feature of this American classic is the tiger eye base. Stunning. There is a light tan glazing on the porcelain and the palette is neutral and versatile in a number of design plans. This Stiffel lamp was manufactured in America between 1925 and 1950.
The measurements are 33 inches tall, 8 inches wide and deep.
