Cement and marble table lamp, late 1970s/early 1980s
Sculptural lamp composed of a solid smooth concrete base and a top of fine white Carrara marble, crafted with care and precision. When lit, the lamp visually evokes the shape of an eye. The electrical components, original at the time, bear Yugoslav markings, suggesting a date between the late 1970s and early 1980s. The manufacture, as well as the designer, remain unidentified to date, but the attention to detail and use of noble materials reveal a piece of high quality craftsmanship or production.
