Clear Fractal Resin Table Lamp with Plexi Shade by Marie Claude de Fouquieres

About the Item

A transparent fractal resin rectangular table lamp features a chrome central stem that supports dual-layer shades made of acrylic. The inner layer is white, effectively diffusing the light and concealing the bulbs, while the outer layer has a decorative clear finish. Marie Claude de Fouquières (Born in 1937) Marie-Claude de Fouquières is a renowned French designer known for her work with fractal resin, particularly during the 1970s. Between 1969 and 1977, she produced furniture pieces and decorative objects using this innovative technique. Fractal resin is the result of a complex chemical process involving high-temperature curing, followed by multiple polishing phases. This technique creates a distinctive fragmented pattern with shimmering effects. Her creations, including coffee tables and lamps, were often supported by brushed steel or polished brass structures, reflecting the distinctive style of the 1970s. Marie-Claude de Fouquières' work attracted prestigious clients, including David de Rothschild and the Emir of Qatar, as well as famous interior designers such as David Hicks and Henri Samuel. Her pioneering approach and mastery of fractal resin have made her an iconic figure in French design of that era.
