Exquisitely handcrafted by Amitābha Studio in Amsterdam, Wilhelmina is a one-of-a-kind table lamp made from a rare, hand-painted vintage Regina Delft Blue ginger jar, produced in the Netherlands between 1935 and 1979. This elegant piece blends classical Dutch form with bold, luxurious color — a striking combination that nods to the glamorous style of Hollywood Regency interiors. The ceramic base was created by Kunstaardewerkfabriek Regina, a renowned Gouda pottery factory founded in 1898 to mark the coronation of Queen Wilhelmina. Decorated in a deep cobalt Delft Blue with stylized floral detailing, the jar exemplifies Regina’s fine craftsmanship and artistic heritage. Each piece from this period was hand-painted and marked with the iconic crown and “WB” initials, a tribute to founders Gerrit Frederik van der Want and Georges Antoine Alexis Barras. To elevate its visual impact, the lamp is paired with a sumptuous scarlet red velvet drum shade, custom-made in an Amsterdam atelier, and finished with a matching red fabric cord. This bold color pairing — blue and red in richly glazed ceramic and plush velvet — evokes the dramatic contrast and luxury central to the Hollywood Regency aesthetic. The lamp was created without harming the original jar in any way.
