Exceptional and Large Table Lamp by Andre Ricard for Metalarte Spain 1967
About the Item
Extremely rare and large table lamp with rotating plexiglass globe lamp shade. Designed by André Ricard in 1967 for Metalarte, Spain. Makers mark to the arms.
The lamp shade consists of two parts. One part has an aluminium reflector inside. Due to the aluminium reflector, the light fall can be adjusted to the wished position.
Executed in plexiglass, aluminium and chrome-plated steel, the lamp comes with 1 x E27 / E26 Edison screw fit bulb socket, is wired, in working condition and runs both on 110 / 230 volt.
Good original vintage condition. Wear consistent with use and age.

A playful icon of Spanish industrial design, the Tatu Table Lamp was created by André Ricard for Metalarte in 1972. Inspired by the periscope and the ergonomic curves of a tattoo machine, "Tatu" embodies the spirit of 1970s innovation — modular, functional, and bold in personality.
Crafted in vibrant red thermoplastic, the lamp features three independently rotating joints, allowing it to morph seamlessly between a table lamp and a wall-mounted light. This example retains its original box, along with the original wall bracket tucked inside — a detail rarely preserved, making this a particularly complete and collectible piece.
