Hand Blown Murano Glass Table Lamp
About the Item
A Murano glass lamp with metal base. For Mazzega, Italy. The large heavy globe is made from white and clear glass and has an opening in the center, top and bottom. The shade sits on a metal base which connects to an internal chrome shaft that holds the bulb socket at the top. The bulb can be a large diameter frosted bulb (as shown), a clear bulb or a large chrome-top bulb. The ideal diameter of the bulb is 3-4". The piece has been rewired with a dimmer according to the USA standard.
This type of 1960's-1970's Italian lamp is ultra-modern but has a strong organic and elemental aura. It feels more like a unique art work than an industrially-produced light fixture. It blends effortlessly with all kinds of modern and globally-inspired interiors.
