About the Item

The ÁNADE Desk lamp was created by Catalan designer Josep Lluscà in 1984 for the Spanish lighting manufacturer Metalarte which produced it in 1985. This bedside / desk light is made up of a circular steel base and two section tubular steel arm which folds and swivels. The semi spherical red metallic shade holds one 50 w candelabra base (max) and the shade’s position adjusts automatically to whichever position the arm is placed. Josep Lluscà Martínez (1948) industrial designer that opened a studio in 1972 in Barcelona. Metalarte was founded in 1932 as a metal workshop and began producing lighting of their own design in the 40s. Scandinavian design influenced the late 1950s modern designs that became Metalarte’s trademark. A few years later, they commenced to employ well known industrial designers to create lighting for them and Llusca was one of them. An Anade desk lamp was used as a prop in the 2019 Spanish drama film Dolor Y Gloria (Pain And Glory) directed by Pedro Almodóvar. Measurements: 23.63 inches high – 6.69 inches diameter Lampshade – 7.87 inches diameter base – 50 watts (max) Bulb Condition: Very good with minor wear consistent with the lamp’s age and use. Please look at all pics since there are images of a tiny scrape on one arm and on the shade. The dimmer switch has been replaced with a ON-OFF switch, the socket has been replaced to accept a standard candelabra bulb, both professionaly replaced.

Replacements made: The dimmer switch has been replaced with a ON-OFF switch, the socket has been replaced to accept a standard candelabra bulb, both professionaly replaced. Wear consistent with age and use. Very good with minor wear consistent with the lamp’s age and use. Please look at all pics since there are images of a tiny scrape on one arm and on the shade.
