Here is the large, iconic, mid century award winning desk lamp penned by Clay Michie for Knoll! This lamp is an archetype of modernist mid century style with its long articulating chrome arm and saucer shade!
This award winning lamp was used in books and magazines to illustrate what "good design" modern lighting should look like and this lamp defined the "modern" desk lamp in the fifties!
It cuts a classic profile! This example still has an original 1950s bulb diffuser, similar to those found on Italian lamps of the period, to protect the users from glare when the shade was facing them!
This lamp is so well made it provides a striking contrast to lamps of today.
