About the Item

20th c., a pair of large brass reticulated candle pricket table lamps, with grape clusters and leaves in relief, on paw feet, unmarked. These lamps are fabulous in the best possible way. The level of decoration on the lamps is over the top and beautifully executed. From the shade finial to the paw feel every element is worthy of admiration. The paw feet even have claws! The "jewels" on each lamp have the look of ruby, sapphire, aquamarine and opal stones though are likely glass cabochons. In any event they take the overall look of these lamps to the next level of delightful excess. The simplicity of the linen drum shades is a pleasant counterpoint. Dimensions: Lamp: 44"h (to top of finial) x 11.5"w (at base) Shade: 18"w top x 11"h x 20"bottom Condition: Good, some finish wear and pitting to metal.
