About the Item

Table lamp 'Duca' designed by Nicola Gallizia in 2015. Table lamp giving direct and reflected light. Painted metal structure. Manufactured by Oluce, Italy. The initial idea for DUCA was a light source able to take up where the concept of the classical bedside lamp had left off, reinventing its shape, combining it with a very soft, indirect light, of which it is almost impossible to perceive the source but which lights up the table and beside table area accurately and efficiently. Fascinated by theatrical lighting, which takes the origin of the source away from the eye and only allows itself to be detected in the beam on the front of stage, Nicola Gallizia works on structural subtraction to focus on the lighting effect, entrusting the light with task of revealing itself. Materials and color: Warm grey metal Dimensions: D 33 cm x W 33 cm x H 38 cm Technical information: 1 x max 14W (LED) 220V This lamp is wired for Europe, if used in US or any other country the client will need to convert it. Founded in 1945, Oluce is the oldest Italian design company in the lighting sector still in operation today. Oluce lighting’s design aesthetic is crisp, linear, and decorative. A subtle, intellectual beauty that over the years has led the company to produce some of the more recognizable and admired iconic lighting in the world. Oluce, already participating at the 9th Triennale in Milan, throughout its long history, has received numerous acknowledgements including two Golden Compass awards, two Design Awards and the Gold Medal at the 13th Triennale in Milan. Its lamps appear in the most important permanent design collections worldwide. Oluce’s expertise reveals its unparalleled manufacturing excellence which transforms into objects an untiring technological research into the potential of light. Each lamp is a milestone along this journey. Over time, from unusual materials, original designs and new lighting sources ensued revolutionary iconic designs by Tito Agnoli, Joe Colombo, Marco Zanuso, Ostuni e Forti, and Vico Magistretti, who since the 50s, have been rewriting the history of lighting. Recent collections reaffirm Oluce design and decorative approach, expressed through the signs by Italian and international designers such as Angeletti & Ruzza, Francesco Rota, Nendo, Victor Vasilev, Nicola Gallizia, Christophe Pillet, Mist-o and David Lopez Quincoces.

Vico Magistretti 'Atollo' Small Metal Satin Bronze Table Lamp by Oluce
By Vico Magistretti, Oluce
Located in Barcelona, Barcelona
Table lamp designed by Vico Magistretti in 1977 Manufactured by Oluce, Italy. Designed in 1977 by Vico Magistretti, over the years, Atollo has become the archetype of the table lamp, winning the Compasso d’Oro in 1979 and completely revolutionising the way we imagine the classic bedside lamp. The geometric shapes that compose it - cylinder, cone and hemisphere - have resulted in a product that is decorative and essential at the same time, disconnected from the historical period and the fashions of the moment, and one that has now fully become one of the icons of Italian design. Materials and color: Metal satin bronze Dimensions: D 25 cm x W 25 cm x H 35 cm Technical information: 2 x max 40 W (E14) This lamp is wired for Europe, if used in US or any other country the client will need to convert it. Joe Colombo Model #2201 'Mini Coupé' Table Lamp in Anodic Bronze for Oluce
By Oluce, Joe Colombo
Located in Glendale, CA
Joe Colombo Model #2201 'Mini Coupé' table lamp in anodic bronze for Oluce. Executed in anodic bronze and chrome, this table lamp is a smaller-scale version of one of the most refined Minimalist Italian designs of the midcentury and an icon for Colombo. A highly adjustable table light, the shade can be rotated up/down and right/left. Originally designed in 1967, this iconic lamp is still made by Oluce in Italy using many of the original manufacturing techniques with scrupulous attention to detail, materials and craftsmanship. The Coupé series was initially conceived as a variation of the Spider family, of which it has kept its base and stem. The simple, ingenious mechanism that connects the stem to the head makes it possible to direct the beam in several directions, by moving the dome up, down and sideways. In 1968, Coupé won the ”International Design Award” of the American Institute of Interior Designers in Chicago. It is part of the permanent collection at both the MoMA in New York and the ”Neue Sammlung” Museum in Munich. Price is per item. Available to order in unlimited quantities in choice of scarlet red, black, mustard yellow, or anodic bronze. The Coupé is also available as a larger 'Model 2202' table lamp, a wall pivoting lamp 'Model 1158...
