About the Item
Otto Prutscher designed this lamp for the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et industriels Modernes in Paris.
It was manufactured by the Viennese bronze foundry Melzer & Neuhardt.
Solid bronze casting; silk shade. Renewed electrification.
It was exhibited in the pavilion designed by Josef Hoffmann.
Apparently, Prutscher was awarded a gold medal for the design – he recorded this in his CV, and it is also mentioned in a congratulatory letter from the Vienna Arts and Crafts Association dated November 6, 1925.
