EXQUISITE PAIR! STACKED MAPLE & BRASS ART DECO LAMPS AFTER RUSSEL WRIGHT DISTINGUISHED DESIGN! CIRCA 1939 - 1949 DIMENSIONS: 28" x 13" This pair of Art Deco lamps are simply sensational! These date to the time when Deco was becoming "Moderne" and a few years later "Contemporary" which we now call Mid Century Modern! The aesthetic of these is wonderful! The warm wood and cool brass as they present in their repeating skyscraper stacked pattern create visual harmony, symmetry and rhythm - key elements in Good Design! These Lamps are striking and handsome! It is pure joy just to sit and stare at these beautiful lamps! The eye travels to the circular brass and then to the maple blocks. There's a very reassuring visual harmony & symmetry in this design! They have that hard to define special magic that make them both cozy and stately at the same time! They look spectacular lit or unlit and are a decorator delight! Very fine condition with light age appropriate wear to the wood and metal. They display exquisitely! A wonderful pair of lamps for your NY penthouse, Palm Springs atomic ranch or mid century Eichler home!
