A pair of fabulous cylindrical forms Meiji Period (1868-1912) patinated bronze table lamps on carved wood bases with dragon, turtle, and mystical creatures motifs. Likely late 19th/Early 20th century. From a Los Angeles collection of fine Japanese vintage art and antiques. Quite a rare pair. Would be a great addition to any Japanese antique collection or make for an eye-catching stand-alone accent piece in any setting. Dimensions per lamp (to top of finial): 24" high, 7" wide, 7" deep Please note this listing is for the lamps only. No shades are included but should easily be found.

An exquisite, beautifully crafted, and designed gourd vase by master Japanese potter Shoji Hamada, which features a fine example of his famed rich Kaki or persimmon glaze. The original Hamada stamped/sealed and signed box is included. Rare to find such a beautiful piece in such impeccable condition with its original signed box. Hamada named this vase Kaki-Yu-Kabin (flower vase with Kakiyu glaze). A very rare form. One Japanese ceramic dealer whom we know said he had only seen one or two other examples like this by Hamada before. This work is sure to shine in any Japanese pottery/art collection or setting. Shoji Hamada was designated a Living National Treasure in Japan in 1955. In 1968 he received Japan's highest artistic award the Order of Culture.
