This pair of Lucite and chrome showcase lamps with removable Chinese elephant offers a playful yet sophisticated blend of sculptural art and modern lighting. Each lamp consists of a thick Lucite base with polished chrome stem and are shown with crisp new cream colored drum shades for a fresh, contemporary silhouette. The highlight: vintage ceramic Chinese elephants with riders in crisp pointed white hats that rest freely atop the base—fully removable and full of charm.
The hand-molded clay elephants are adorned with high-relief figures: a trio of riders in conical hats atop the elephant and four standing figures at each leg, suggesting a ceremonial or royal procession. Their dark glaze finish is accented with incised floral and rope motifs, blending folk artistry with stylized detailing.
