Measures: 24" in.(61 cm) high w/harp
Mars, 13 3/4" in.(35 cm.) high
Minerva, 13 1/4" in.(33.5 cm.) high
Base diameter, 4 1/2" in.(11.5 cm.)
Note: Size of lamps with & without harp.
Modelled as a Roman figures of Mars and Minerva
Mars depicted standing in contrapposto and holding a shield in his right hand and a sword in his left;
Minerva depicted with a shield in her right hand,
Each on an associated painted pedestal.
Bronzed plaster with white highlights.
Models probably after Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen.
Quite similar sculptures in terracotta, were also produced
by Lauritz Adolph Hjorth of Bornholm Denmark.
