About the Item

Postmodern table lamp from the Italian manufacturer Lumen Center Italia based on a design by architect and designer Jean Michel Wilmotte from the 80s. This is the old, original version with halogen and a more reduced formation of the base, without additional plate. The design follows a postmodern design language and plays with basic geometric elements. Cylinder, sphere and semicircle come together here. The large, flat shade is striking. The heavy base is designed as a simple cylinder and effortlessly holds the wide cantilevered shade with its weight. The connection between the umbrella and the base is designed as a small ball and suggests a balancing support. The shade can rotate 360 degrees. In this original version of the lamp, the base with a semicircular disc still crashed in front. This is set off with a fine joint. The surface is finished in matte black, which further emphasizes the striking geometry of the lamp. The interior of the shade is finished in white to ensure better reflection of light. The luminaire was originally designed by Wilmotte for the French Embassy in Washington DC. Hence the name. European Plug (up to 250V). The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
