Remarkable Pair of Reverse Painted Lamps in the Style of Piero Fornasetti
About the Item
A stunning pair of reverse painted glass lamps. A subtle, whimsical, almost surreal interpretation of the neoclassic style. Cream vessels with motifs executed in charcoal, gold and raspberry. Distressed bronze painted wood base and accents. Each lamp bares an individual quote. The Maker sophistication, creativity and humor on display is truly amazing. While there is no visible Maker mark, the lamps are consistent with the Fornasetti production of the early 1960s. Excellent restored condition. Rewired using clear cord, new bronze three-way socket and turn switch. Complete with new silk shades (color: Egg, size: 10" x 18" x 11" high) and distressed bronze finials. Width and depth noted are per the base, the height noted is to the top of the finial. The price listed is for the pair.
