About the Item

This table lamp represents a historic collaboration between Amitābha Studio and Royal Delft, resulting in one of the first-ever Royal Delft lamps. Meticulously handcrafted by Amitābha Studio in Amsterdam, the lamp features a base made at the esteemed Royal Delft factory, paying homage to the rich tradition of Delft White—a style that emerged in the 1930s. Amitābha Studio has revived a heritage pattern first documented in 1904, which adorns the bespoke lampshade options available for this piece. The lamp combines centuries of Dutch craftsmanship with innovative design, offering a unique and elegant addition to any interior. The base of the lamp is a tribute to the Delft White tradition, a style born in the 1930s when Royal Delft adapted to the economic challenges of the time by shifting focus from intricate hand-painting to the elegant, sculptural forms of their vases. This shift marked the beginning of Delft White’s legacy—a collection characterized by its refined simplicity and enduring artistry. Today, Royal Delft, the only remaining ceramics factory out of 32 established in Delft during the 17th century, continues this tradition, making this lamp a piece of living history. This table lamp offers two distinct lampshade options, each featuring the same heritage revival pattern rediscovered by Amitābha Studio. First documented in the 1904 Parisian advertisements for Faiencerie de Delft (Hollande), this captivating design, celebrated in creations from 1914 and 1925, has been revived in this exclusive collaboration. The first lampshade option is crafted from organic cotton, sustainably printed to order in the Netherlands, and meticulously handcrafted at an atelier near Amsterdam. The second option is a pleated shade made from U-circular Silk, a luxurious fabric with a beautiful sheen, woven from 100% recycled polyester derived from PET beverage bottles. This fabric provides an eco-conscious yet elegant alternative, embodying a commitment to sustainable luxury. Accentuated with sophisticated brass details and a distinguished blue braided cord that perfectly complements the lamp’s tones, this piece brings an elevated touch of refinement to any setting, whether it’s a bedside table or a cozy reading nook. The harmonious blend of historical artistry and modern sustainability makes this lamp not just a source of light but a symbol of enduring craftsmanship. Each lamp is specially crafted to order, so we kindly ask for a lead time of three to four weeks for your bespoke creation. We also ensure compatibility for global use by offering a free plug customization service to match the electrical standards of your specific country. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us!
