Meticulously hand-crafted in Spain in the 1960s and attributed to Cerámicas Bondia of Manises, this lamp exemplifies the exuberant artistry of Valencian ceramics. The form is richly adorned with hand-applied blossoms in vibrant turquoise glaze, each petal modeled in relief to create a three-dimensional surface alive with texture and light. The sculptural floral arrangement rises from a ribbed urn-shaped base and is mounted on a giltwood plinth, an elegant contrast to the saturated glaze.
This lamp is characteristic of Bondia’s celebrated mid-century production, where traditional Manises ceramic techniques were reimagined with bold forms and colors for an international clientele. Its brilliant turquoise surface is especially prized, a color that captures Mediterranean luminosity and remains highly collectible among connoisseurs of Spanish ceramics.
