About the Item

Designed by Stefanie Haining and Created by Richard Haining, this STACKED Cairn Lamp is Richard's most recent explorations into his signature lighting. As with all of his work, this sculpture was built, sculpted, and finished entirely by hand. To the confusion of many, there is no lathe work involved. The desired profile is defined during the building process. Imagine coil pottery…or an analog version of 3-D printing. Piece by individual piece, layer upon layer, he additively sculpted the form, controlling both the wall thickness as well as the profile. Once constructed, Richard reductively shaped the exterior using a variety of hand held tools, resulting in a finely honed quality with subtle undulations very similar to that of hand built ceramics. This lamp is designed for use with TALA's Oval LED Lightbulb. Overall height of lamp includes the lightbulb. The height of the base without the lightbulb is 13"tall. White Asa Table Lamp by Miguel Mila
By Santa & Cole
Located in Geneve, CH
White Asa table lamp by Miguel Mila. Dimensions: D 15 x H 41 cm. Materials: Metal, methacrylate shade. Asa is built of an ingenious, single, continuous tube structure which also defines the upper, handle-shaped structure for carrying. It has two colour versions: white or, in its original 1961 version, with black structure and switch. Three visible elements, structure, shade and switch, make up a beautifully-proportioned ensemble. Santa & Cole is a small, independent and global editor of design products, with its roots in Belloch (Barcelona, Spain). We have been editing since 1985, when the company was first founded. By editing we mean preparing a work for the public domain, we mean adapting an item for everyone’s use. What a book editor does with stories, we do with objects. More than eighty creators have contributed to a rich catalogue of furniture and lighting products originating in very different contexts, by renowned designers such as Antoni Arola, Miguel Milá, André Ricard and llmari Tapiovaara. Acute and attentive to quality and detail, Santa & Cole outsources all of its industrial production to an extensive network of suppliers, mainly in Spain, but also in other countries such as Japan, where the washi paper for our Tekiò lamp...
