About the Item

This is a very unique table lamp with the very famous Japanese glaze (tenmoku). Its a higher piece than usual. This is a real lamp not a vase that was transformed later. You can see the glaze around the cable hole on the detail picture. A signature under the base which tell it is from 1970. Made by hand by Master ceramicist Stig Lindberg who was head of creative department at Gustavsberg at that time. The lamp (49cm) received a new wool shade (by Audrey) with new old stock fabric from the 70's. The feet (28cm) was professionally cleaned by a craftsman (her name is Sophie). One of Sweden's most important postwar Swedish designers, Lindberg created whimsical studio ceramics and graceful tableware lines during a long career with the Gustavsberg pottery factory. Stig Lindberg studied painting at the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design. In 1937, he went to work at Gustavsberg under Wilhelm Kåge. In 1949, he was named Kåge's successor as art director. From this period until he left Gustavsberg in 1980.

Eva Stæhr-nielsen Unique Big Green Table Lamp, Saxbo Denmark, 1950s
By Eva Stæhr Nielsen, Saxbo
Located in Forest, BE
This is a very unique table lamp with a nice shade of green glaze. Its a higher piece than usual. This is a real lamp not a vase that was transformed later. You can see the glaze around the cable hole on the detail picture. A signature under the base. Made by hand by Master ceramicist Eva Stæhr-Nielsen at famous Danish Saxbo atelier. The lamp shade (34.4 x H24.2cm) received a new white stripped cotton (by Audrey). The feet (34 x 13cm diameter) was professionally cleaned by a craftsman (her name is Sophie).
