About the Item

This stylish metal table lamp was designed by famed Danish designed Svend Aage Holm Sorensen. Svend Aage Holm-Sørensen (1913-2004) was a Danish designer who is best known for his wide collection of light fixtures. A licensed ornamental metalworker, Holm-Sørensen started his design career in the 1950s, and many on his designs feature metal surface with different ornaments and perforations. Besides luminaires, Holm-Sørensen also designed furniture and small items. This table lamp is simple as it is attractive. The metal shade has cut-out shapes at the end, allowing small bits of light to escape from the sides, resulting in an interesting illumination experience. The lamp stands on an asymmetrical metal base, adding a bit of intrigue to its overall shape. The stem between the base and the shade is brass, bringing a pleasing accent color to the piece. This lamp has had its cord cut and can be rewired to best fit its new home situation.
