About the Item
A smaller and simpler piece from the studio of Sam Rush. With echoes of Abel LaFleur's Jules Rimet Trophy, this stainless steel and Brass lamp is ostensibly a sculpture, with the functionality of light.
The Angel lamp uses the reflected light from the wings to capture and illuminate an area of a room.
The construction of this light is by means of gas brazing. This is a means truer to the period it reflects, but also bronze of the brazing has its own appeal.
Sam Rush deliberately does not employ staff or outsources work. "If I wanted to be a factory boss, I would have chosen a sweet factory" . The result of this, is that each piece of work from Sam's studio is individual and, given the length of time it takes to make each piece, and how short life is... effectively limited edition.
All lamps are UKCA certified, made to CE and LU standards.
