About the Item
Original vintage version of the Alfa lamp designed by Sergio Mazza in 1959 and entered production in 1960.
Alfa is first historical lamp produced by Artemide and designed by its founder (together with Ernesto Gismondi)
This specimen can be dated in the 1960s in view of the fact that, unlike more recent versions, the metal parts are nickel-plated brass (as can be verified in the photos where you can see parts where the nickel plating has faded and the brass stain remains.
resting on an elegant black marble base, while the bell-shaped diffuser is made of processed crystal with pleated effect. Alfa is a re-envisioning of the classic Abat Jour but in a modern, design-oriented way.
As the lamp dates from the early examples in the late 1960s (as evidenced by the brass frame), it bears no attribution mark

- Condition:Minor fading. the lamp has no defects or breaks. the metal part has vintage patina represented by slight oxidation marks that in the flat part above the glass has worn away the nickel-plated patina bringing out the brass essence of the metal.
