About the Item

Material: Sheet iron painted gray, pressed fabric black, bakelite black, rotary switch, connection cable, Schuko plug, socket E 27 Condition: Good original condition Special features: Very few signs of use. Rewired by our electrician, this interesting clamp joint lamp is once again fully usable. about this object: Industrial design of the GDR, a field that still receives little attention: wrongly, we think. Here we show a work lamp from VEB NARVA Leuchtenbau Dresden with a design typical of the time. The base plate has 4 holes for permanently screwing the lamp on, as an alternative to the clamp, which is also present. The luminaire is painted in the matt workshop gray typical of the time and shows few signs of wear. The rotary switch is located in the socket on the reflector. The lamp arm can be tilted and rotated using the ball joint in the lamp arm base. It can be locked in place using large Bakelite wing nuts. A further joint has been inserted in the upper section of the luminaire arm for flexible adjustment of the reflector. The design can be described as simply functional and unobtrusive. The black pressed fabric of the reflector and the gray paintwork contrast very subtly.
