About the Item

Tutankhamun lamp painted and gilt ceramic, Italian, circa 1970s. Although not signed this lamp has many of the features of the work of Vittorio Sabadin. This table lamp has been gently cleaned while respecting the vintage patina. It is newly rewired and earthed, fully working and PAT tested by an electrician. It has a new E 27 brass lamp holder, black cord switch, golden silk cable and new black plug. Light bulb included. It is possible to use this lamp in other countries although it may be necessary to purchase a different light bulb suitable to local electricity. Superbly painted and gilded this lamp is unique with white as the base color. This style of porcelain is characteristic of the work of north Italy. A famous porcelain producer is Ronzan, established in 1938 in Turin and this lamp may be an example of their work. Iconic and elegant this lamp would be a sculptural addition to a range of Interiors including Art Deco, Hollywood Regency, 1970s Glamour, Post-Modern or Contemporary. At the focal point is a quality porcelain base depicting Tutankhamun's death mask. Sculptural, hand painted and gilded it has a quality glaze finished in the colors of Tutankhamun's famous mask: blue, black, white, terracotta and light blue. Rising from the top of the head there is a solid brass column leading to the lamp holder with a brass cover. The lamp holder has two brass screw washers to hold the lampshade in place. The original Pagoda vintage shade is light beige lacquer on the outside, with a fabric trim and gold detail. The inside of the shade is in gold to reflect a warm tone of light. This vintage table lamp is in very good condition. The paint and gilt are intact with no cracks or chips. The vintage Pagoda lampshade is the original and in good condition with no rips or cuts and only light wear, such as along the fabric trim, fitting to its age. Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care while packing. For safe transport the lampshade would be removed and packed separately with bubble wrap and an outer layer of card. The base would be packed similarly. Both parts would fit easily in a box ideal for posting or shipping. Additional dimensions: The total height with the shade on is: 51.5 cm; width: 30 cm; depth: 21 cm. The dimensions of the shade alone is height: 21 cm; width: 30 cm; depth: 21 cm.
