About the Item
In 1974 the Barcelona designers Gemma Bernal and Ramón Isern designed this innovative system of lamps edited by Tramo.
In this tabletop version, a square-conical shade in black lacquered aluminum is attached to a circular base through an adjustable tilt arm, both made of beech wood, very stylish at the time. A piece of wood anchored to the upper part of the bulb holder next to the switch allows you to orient the screen in an infinite number of positions. An articulation system that gives this design great flexibility.
Its sophisticated simplicity and the warmth of its materials make the Archimedes lamp an excellent design.

Gemma Bernal (Barcelona, 1949) is a versatile designer who, in her 40-year career, has created everything from furniture and lighting objects to toys, electrical appliances, household items, sanitary ware and street furniture. In 1969 she earned a Gold Delta for a shower telephone for the Raydor company. She currently combines design with teaching, teaching at the EINA, ESDI schools and the Master's Degree in Ephemeral Architecture at the University of Barcelona.
