The iconic triangular shape with bevelled edges - designed to make the best use of the space - is the unmistakable feature of the seat of the Mexique Outdoor design stool, as well; The bar table can be paired with the design stool from the same family.

Charlotte Perriand began designing the “en forme libre” series of tables in 1938 and devised Mexique in 1952 for the students’ rooms in the Maison du Mexique at the Cité Universitaire Internationale in Paris.
Re-edited by Cassina for the first time in 2014, it gave rise to a collection that includes several iterations, all while staying true to the original designs. Now, working closely with Pernette Perriand-Barsac, daughter and sole heir of Charlotte Perriand, Cassina introduces the Mexique tables and stools in new versions for en plein air enjoyment to the max.
The iconic triangular shape with bevelled edges - originally designed to make the best use of the available space - remains the unmistakable trait in the Mexique Outdoor line, launched this year as a low table, dining table and high table with matching stool, available in two heights. New materials available in fresh, novel finishes and colours differentiate and emphasize the elegant design of this family. For all of the pieces in the series, Okoume wood, ideal for outdoor use, comes with matt lacquer finish in the following colours: marron glacé, China red, comfort, petroleum, light grey, sage green, a new shade of blue and Capri blue; the low tables also come with glossy glazed ceramic finish in the following shades: mossy green, basalt grey and light grey, while a natural teak seat is also available for the stools.
Thanks to this vast and varied product range, it is possible to mix and match the various styles to create dynamic, free-form arrangements in absolute Charlotte Perriand spirit.
As is true of all the works in the Cassina I Maestri Collection, each piece is authenticated by the Cassina logo, Charlotte Perriand’s signature and by a serial number that corresponds to the data on its ID card.

About The Designer:
Charlotte Perriand full membership of that avant-garde cultural movement which, from the first decades of the twentieth century, brought about a profound change in aesthetic values and gave birth to a truly modern sensitivity towards everyday life. In this context, her specific contribution focuses on interior composition, conceived as creating a new way of living, still today at the heart of contemporary lifestyle. In the sphere of twentieth century furnishing history, the advent of modernity made possible the entrepreneurial audacity of this true reformer of interior design. At the beginning of her professional career she was acclaimed by critics for her Bar under the roof, exhibited at the Salon d’Automne in 1927 and constructed entirely in nickel-plated copper and anodized aluminium. In the same year, when she was just twenty-four years old, she began a decade-long collaboration with Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret, at the famous design studios at 35, rue de Sèvres in Paris. Her presence in the Le Corbusier studio is visible in all the furnishings designed with him and with Pierre Jeanneret: and so Charlotte Perriand becomes a cornerstone in the reformation project promoted by the architect, adding a distinct dimension of humaneness to the often cold rationalism of Le Corbusier. In her creations she manages to animate the fundamental substance of daily life with new aesthetic values: in particular her talent and intuition in the discovery and use of new materials manifest themselves to their full extent. The ten-year long collaboration with Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret, and her Japanese experience, represent periods of intense creative effervescence in the life of the artist. During her long stay in the Far East (‘40-‘46), she reveals her artistic talent to the full, through a reinterpretation of the reality of life to echo both tradition and modernity. By way of example, worthy of mention are the furnishings produced using traditional bamboo processing techniques, capable of enhancing the new forms already experimented using steel-tubing.After her work as a professional, she concentrates on a series of original and balanced productions, commissioned by top-level authorities and leading companies of the calibre of Air France, and by a number of foreign organizations, authenticating the fame she had by now gained on the international scene. The distinguishing factor of Charlotte Perriand’s personality is a sincere loyalty to the principles of humane and innovative rationalism, preserved intact in her projects, on which she worked with such passion, also in readiness for their revival in the “Cassina I Maestri” collection.

Arne Jacobsen Series 7 or 3107 Chairs by Fritz Hansen Mid Century Modern 1964
Located in London, GB
A timeless icon of design this wonderful set of eight model #3107 (also known as the "Series-7") stacking dining chairs in black were designed by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen in 1955. This set are an early production model with a rarely seen registered and numbered metal CAP, April 1964. In the late 60’s Fritz Hansen then changed to the more commonly seen plastic stamped CAP.
The CAP carries the Made in Denmark, the Danish Control FurnitureMakers emblem and the FH logo along with the year. This is important for collectors who are not looking to buy the more usual plastic CAP chairs you find on later production models.

Carlo Ratti Set of Four Chairs in Plywood by Società Compensati Curvi 1950s
Located in Montecatini Terme, IT
Set of four dining chairs with a frame in black lacquered metal and seat in curved plywood, attributed to Carlo Ratti and produced by Società Compensati Curvati in the 1950s.
In Italy, at the beginning of the XX century, industries of curved solid wood arose under license of Michael Thonet, and through the International Exhibitions the processing of curved wood became more and more widespread.
The Expo of the first decade was also attended by the wood manufacturers of Monza, while in 1905 Otto Helzer, in Switzerland, patented wooden structures in curved laminated, whose strength was equivalent to those in steel.
The Ratti brothers of Monza took their cue from the solid wood laminate to create furniture that, instead of wooden elements, used sheets of wood.
The brothers Ratti, Carlo and Mario, also began to follow the young artistic avant-gardes (cubism, futurism and abstractionism).
The mastery of wooden sculpture influenced Carlo in the design and realization of furniture of fine neo-plastic artistic workmanship and decò, receiving honors from the Prince of Piedmont Umberto di Savoia.
In 1919, in Milan, the first Lombard Exhibition of Decorative Arts was set up (later to become the Triennale) and the Ratti brothers exhibited their furniture in solid wood but also in curved panel with a new system of curvature, the one in Telo.
The canvas system was developed by the Ratti brothers with the help of a friend, Cesare Cantù.
They developed an elastomer bag in which the mould was inserted with the panel to be bent and, closing it with clamps, the air inside was removed, thus making the panel adhere to the mould.
Carlo and Mario found in the Telo system a means by which they could make objects and furniture in the three spatial directions with large surface curvatures, without limits of thickness and minimum radii of curvature.
In 1921 in Stuttgart the first Salone del Mobile was inaugurated and the Fratelli Ratti of Monza made itself known internationally by presenting solid wood furniture and also furniture in load-bearing plywood, flanked by furniture with framed and interchangeable covers.
The Expo became meeting places to verify and present the novelties in the furniture and industrialization sector and, with the development of Industrial Design, the first architects joined in the design of the furniture industries.
The Ratti Brothers, in the various international and national exhibitions, also presented incredible objects in their realization with the system in Telo.
After 1930 Carlo and Mario produced many containers for radio and folding chairs for cinema but in 1939 they divided and in Monza Mario remained who, with his sons Antonio and Angela, formed the Società Compensati Curvi...
