MID-19th CENTURY PAIR OF SMALL GILDED MIRRORS

About the Item

A charming pair of small mirrors in Swiss pine, finely carved and gilded with gold leaf. The frames are adorned with elegant plant spirals that culminate in a cymatium decorated with phytomorphic motifs, as well as the base which is also phytomorphic, a decoration that gives further refinement. The mirrors are original and contemporary with the frames. This is a pair of small mirrors to furnish any room with class and taste. Florentine manufacture from the mid-19th century. Measurements: H x W x D 42.5 x 30 x 3cm

19th century French Napoleon III Embossed & gilded mirror displays extraordinary detail in a celebration of the classical style! Embossing patterns include a bordering all around, with a tier of intriguing foliates, next to a gold bordering and a raised, half-cylindrical molding that is raised from the surface and embossed to depict bundled florals with several types of flowers represented in the detail. Finally, around the original beveled mirror itself appears one last triple tier of gold molding with beading accent.
