Mirror Rococo Styling Edwardian Wood and Gesso Frame over Mantel Gold Leaf
About the Item
An over size Rococo styled gold leaf mirror with gesso detail leaves and garlands. It has a solid wood frame with a tongue and groove wood back. It was original over a fireplace mantel around the turn of the last century. Markings of 1905 on the back. It has had some work done to brighten up the gold leaf over the years. The glass is in 3 pieces and has some age to it as it shows mild foxing to the silver. An impressive piece.
