18th century antique Baroque style giltwood mirror. This giltwood mirror is a spectacular example of Italian Baroque style design. The mirror displays many of the characteristics of the Baroque, including grandeur, richness, drama, vitality and movement. The item features a rectangular, arched mirror panel with a bevelled edge. This is set within a giltwood frame, the inner border of which is carved with husk trails. The outer edge of the frame is decorated with elaborate sculptural carvings of stylized scrolled acanthus leaves and flowers.
