18th-Century Gustavian Giltwood Mirror with Mythological Scenes, Stockholm 1780-

About the Item

A beautiful Gustavian mirror, carefully scraped to reveal its original gilding and color decoration. The top is adorned with a finely carved wooden ribbon, followed by a decorative cornice with a pearl beading carving. Both the upper and lower sections feature original hand-painted Greek mythological scenes on a black paper background, set within a frame with its original glass. The mirror retains its original glass, surrounded by an elegantly carved pearl beading and a decorative ribbon detail. Made in Stockholm, 1780-1790.
